Differences in Health Insurance Coverage

Health insurance coverage is a must if you plan to stay out of medical debt. The price tag for a doctor’s visit alone is outrageous not to mention if you have to get medicine after seeing the doctor. Without health insurance coverage medications can be very costly.

In America, there are two ways to get health insurance coverage or medical insurance. You can either get health insurance coverage through your employer or you can get health insurance coverage on your own. If you are one of the lucky Americans and can get health insurance coverage through your employer, then you can get what is called group medical insurance or group health insurance. This kind of health insurance coverage is provided to your employer at a discounted cost. Then your employer will offer it out to you, the employee, usually at partial cost or no cost to you. Employers often subscribe to group insurance in order to get people to work for them. Group insurance is the preferred kind of health insurance coverage by most people due to the low cost. Most Americans are not so lucky to have the opportunity to get in on the group insurance deal. Instead of group insurance you might have to go with individual insurance. Individual insurance is also a form of health insurance coverage, however group inurance is the cheap health insurance between the two.

Health insurance coverage, whether you have group health insurance or individual health insurance comes in four main types; point of service, preferred provider organization, health maintenance organization, and free for service. The Point of Service health insurance coverage can be cheap health insurance, however you have to use certain providers in order for the insurance to cover the costs of service. The Preferred Provider Organization health insurance coverage allows you to choose the doctor you want to see, however if the doctor is out of network only part of the cost is paid. It is a prepaid type of plan. The Health Maintenance Organization health insurance coverage is like a prepaid plan like the preferred provider organization coverage, but you have to use the in-network medical provider in order for your costs to be covered. The Free for Service health insurance coverage is the best of the types of health insurance you can get, though it is by far the most expensive. It is so flexible that it allos you to see any doctor and go to any hospital that you want to within the United States.

If you have seen one of those hefty medical price tags without having the health insurance coverage, my guess is that you do not want to see another one. If you have not yet had the opportunity to see one, I promise that you do not want to. I would recomend my insurance company, first and foremost because of how polite, patient, and courteous my agent who writes for this company. He is somewhat hard to catch in the office, but when he is there, he is always more than willing to stop whatever he is doing, to answer my questions. The second most important reason that I'd recomment them is that my rates have been very controlled, where I see that others, with other companies, don't seem to be. These really are the two most prominent reasons that I'd recomend my company to a friend. ...
